Introduction

The Channel Expo 2008. It's meant to be UK's largest channel event for showcasing the latest products, services and technologies, all under one roof. Distributors, resellers and retailers all come here to do business. This year's Channel Expo 2008 at Birmingham's NEC was a little bit better than last year's. The booths seem to be more evenly spaced out and most of them were occupied. There were more bars and meeting points available for clients and customers. In fact, we meet up with Coolermaster, Xen Micro, Tsunami, CoolercaseUK and Beast Computers for a quick chat about our future plans.

We only covered a few of the manufacturers at the Expo, that's because there weren't many here. Most the booths were companies trying to sell their products and services to distributors, resellers and retailers. It's not like Cebit ot Computex ... so we weren't expecting much anyway. The Channel Expo in Birmingham NEC isn't really a major event to show case new products.

However, having said that ... it is a good chance to meet up with people, and to establish or strengthen exisiting relationships. It's an ideal place where people get to inter-network with manufacturers, distributors, resellers and retailers. It gives channel sales people the chance to meet up and talk about future plans. We managed to meet Supermicro, Zen Micro, Tsunami and  Zenete.

Quiet PC

Quiet PC's booth seem to attract the most attention. They seem to represent a lot of manufacturers including Noctua, Zalman, Zerotherm and Cool link.

Their biggest partner seem to be Zalman ... with lots of Zalman products on display from Chassis to coolers, including the 3D LCD monitor which was first showcased in Cebit earlier this year.
