"CPU3D's Exclusive coverage of the Computex 2008 Taipei (Part 1)"
Asus
It was all about the EeePC for Asus, this year at Computex 2008. EeePC seem to be everywhere ... you just can't get away from it. Even their competitors are doing something similar ... but Asus a formidable competitor in notebook field with vast amounts of experience. Their new EeePC 901 sports the latest Intel ATOM processor with a 8.9" LCD screen, 20Gb SDD, 1Gb DDR2 and Windows XP. While the EeePC1000 will have the same ATOM processor but with a 10" or 10.2" screen, 40Gb SDD, 1 or 2Gb DDR2 ram and Linux.
Other interesting products include Asus's new monitors ... there was one on display with a shatterproof glass/window. Another model which feature their new "DisplayLink" allows you to "daisy-chain" upto 6 monitors using a USB cable and a special USB dongle/box.

The new sound cards were very interesting. Partnering with Realtek, they managed to produce a sound card that does not down-grade the audio quality while play Bluray/DVDs. For motherboards and graphics cards there were the usual P45, X48 and various others of similar specs.
Just for fun, Asus demonstrated their wireless heart/health monitor mouse ... very interesting. And how about a wireless monitor !! Yes that's right, using a USB cable/dongle ... you can now watch Bluray movies wirelessly.
Their thermal division have been extremely busy ... and you can tell by the fact that all their graphic cards, now come with special in-house designed GPU coolers. There were also some CPU coolers on display too.
