The BLISS 7900GT Golden Sample ... another top performing video card from Gainward Introduction A few weeks ago we reviewed the Bliss 7600GT Golden Sample from Gainward. We thought that it was a decent graphics card that offered great value for money. It performed extremely well and could keep up with some of the high end cards that we've tested. Now, we take a look at Gainward's Bliss 7900GT Golden Sample. It sports 512MB of super fast DDR3 ram running at 700Mhz (effective 1400Mhz), with the GPU core running at 550Mhz. We've already explained in our previous review, what Gainward's Golden Sample was all about. For those who are new to this ... it's basically selected GPUs specially picked by Gainward for use in their graphics cards. In other words, if you had a Gainward Golden Sample Geforce card and you compare it with an ordinary Geforce ... what you'll find is that it will overclock better than the ordinary Geforce card, and in most cases offers better performance.
This is nothing new ... manufacturers such as BFG, XFX and Leadtek are already selling "overclocked" graphic cards at a premium. However, I would much prefer to buy a non-overclocked Golden Sample from Gainward knowing that I have the freedom to overclock the card whenever I want to. I guess it's down to personal choice.
For all the current games available now, a single 7900GT card should be more than enough to handle even the most demanding game. It will be interesting to see how 2 of these cards in SLI mode will perform. Remember that Gainward have already announced and released their flagship graphics card ... the 7950 GX2 with 1Gb of DDR3 ram and dual GPUs. I'm starting to wonder whether there's a market for cards using the 7900GT GPU. OK, we won't waste anymore time ... let's take a closer look at the Gainward BLISS 7900GT Golden Sample.
