Kingston's HyperX memory kits. Performance and Quality in one package.
Introduction
Kingston Technology have been making high quality memory products since the early days of 1987. Their memory products can be found in a majority of desktop PCs, servers, printers, cell phones, digital cameras and even MP3 players. When it comes memory products, the name "Kingston" have always meant high quality and compatibility.
In 1999, Kingston introduced ValueRAM®. A high-quality, low-cost memory designed for system integrators. This was a major hit for many retailers. Having a great brand name at affordable prices. I myself had Kingston ValueRAM® installed on one of my earlier systems.
Over the past few years, memory technology have adapted to the needs of the enthusiast. From DDR266, 333, 400 to the newer DDR2-533, 667 and 800. Manufacturers are become increasingly competitive... with many enuthusiasts going for high performance memory not just for gaming, but also for desktop performance as well as overclocking. So nowadays, making just ordinary memory products isn't enough.
Kingston saw the potential in this niche market, and to capture this market ... they introduced the "HyperX" range of memory products.
HyperX memory modules are designed specifically with performance and stability in mind. They offer faster memory timings (low latency spec rated at 4-4-4-12) and are able to run at higher voltages for overclocking. To combat the excess heat produced when overclocking, they also include heat spreaders for better cooling.
The enthusiast market is a tough one to crack. There are a number of manufacturers out there, which have already established themselves as the choice for the enthusiast, and just to name a few there's ... OCZ, Mushkin, Corsair and even Crucial.
So why would an enthusiast choose Kingston? and what do they have to offer? Well ... there are a few advantages with Kingston. Firstly, they have been in the industry for many years and have established themselves as one of leaders in memory technology. Second, they are big. Their annual turnover in 2004 was over US$2 billion. They have offices and facilities world wide, and they are one of the main suppliers of ram for DELL.
So, with such a good reputation on the line ... I'm sure these HyperX memory kits won't be a disappointment.
Let's take a look and see how well they perform ...
