HydroBox III Weblog (Part 3) - Putting it all together
Well it's Monday morning ... and I've got some time spare, so I decided to continue where we left off in our HydroBox III (TM) Ultimate Project. In this edition of our weblog, we will be installing the motherboard and fitting the tubing to the waterblock, radiator, pump and flow meter.
Once fully fitted, the next step is to fill the system with coolant. Not an easy task ... but we managed. Check out the photos below ...
Fitting the tubing and motherboard
Once the difficult part (installing peltier and waterblock) has been completed, it's time to put everything together. First we mount the motherboard to the tray. We then install the tubing to the waterblock, radiator, pump and flow meter. All of the watercooling components has been fully tested previously for leaks, so there was no need to worry.

Filling the resevoir with coolant
This is the fun part. Using a funnel, we started filling the resevoir with coolant ... it's a mixture of de-ionised water, anti-algae agent and coolant (blue colour). Before we can continue, we had to bleed the system and get rid of any air bubbles. How did we do it ... well, using a paperclip we short circuit pins 14 (green) and 15 (back) on the ATX power connector. This powers up the ATX PSU and allows the 12v pump to work. Once the coolant has been pumped around the system, it's ready for action.

Watch out for the next edition of our weekly weblog of the HydroBox III (TM) Ultimate Project. Next week we'll finish the rest of the installation and start testing the system. We'll be overclocking our Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 procesor (G0 stepping) and see how well the 240W Peltier will cool the processor. We're expecting some good results ... so watch this space!!
