The Package

The whole package is nicely presented and comes with all the necessary screws, mounting clips, brackets and instruction leaflet. The ultra quiet 120mm fan is package separately and you'll also get a sachet of thermal paste, and a 2-pin to 3-pin power converter.

Installation

Although the Vendetta 2 includes a 120mm fan ... it doesn't come installed. So, firstly you have to mount the fan onto the heatsink. Carefully install the anti-vibration rubber bungs first, and then secure the 120mm fan after. Both tasks were very easy and you shouldn't encounter any problems. However having said that, because the heatsink unit is slightly taller than the orignal Vendetta ... it might not fit all chassis.

In our tests, we used a Gigabyte GA-X38 DQ6 motherboard and an Intel Q6600 processor. And you'll find in the package, two screws for securing the mounting clips on the base of the heatsink. This is only needed for installing the Vendetta 2 on an Intel socket 775 processor. Using the sachet of thermal paste included ... we carefully applied the paste evenly on the processor. The next step is to mount the heatsink unit.

After full installation, we were pleased to find that there's plenty of room around the processor socket. This is great news, as it will allow extra air-flow in and around the area around the processor socket.
