Corsair certainly lives upto its name for producing the World's Fastest Memory ... Introduction If you're an enthusiast or even just a I.T. novice, you probably heard of Corsair Memory. Over the past few years, Corsair have grown considerably, and they are now considered as pioneers of memory production and techology. They seem to be among the very first to release high performance ram, for all of the current and possibly future Intel and AMD platforms. Enthusiasts know that to get the very best memory ... there's only one choice. With such a vast knowledge of the enthusiast market they are now taking their expertise over, to produce other products such as USB drives, SD and Compact Flash cards, and even water-cooling products.

The XMS2 PC2-8500 TwinX 1Gb Kit are Corsair's high-end product. It comes as a pair of 512Mb modules hence the name TWINX and has an official memory timings of 5-5-5-15 at 2.2v. High quality memory chips from MICRON are used in these modules, and because they're matched pairs ... they're great for 128-bit dual channel memory mode. This will give you a small boost in performance over single channel 64-bit memory mode. The modules also include heat spreaders which allow better cooling during overclocking.
This is the first time we've actually got the chance to review a memory product from Corsair, so I'm pretty excited to see what these modules has to offer. I'm expecting good performance, good overclockability and good stability ... will I get all three? Let's take a look at the specifications ...
