"Sapphire offers dual GPU goodness for the mainstream gamer ... The HD 4850x2 promises to give Nvidia a run for its money."
This quarter in 2008, we've seen a flurry of activity from many graphics card manufacturers such as Sapphire. In fact they've been pumping out graphic cards like there's no tomorrow. Not only are they releasing mainstream products, such as their Radeon HD 4550, 4670 and 4830 which we reviewed recently, but also highend cards too.
Using the same GPUs from the original HD 4850 (RV770) ... this card offers dual GPUs at a core clock rate of 625 MHz, with 2 x 800 Stream Processors. What's more, it features a 2Gb of DDR3 memory at a clock rate of 993 MHz, 1986 Mbps. It supports DX10.1, a 256-bit memory interface and 24x custom filter anti-aliasing. All-in-all, a very impressive piece of kit
"The Sapphire Radeon HD 4850x2 is no doubt in my mind, a great product. For the same price as a highe-end, single GPU graphics card based on a Geforce GTX 280 ... you can now have dual GPUs, with 2Gb of DDR3 ram and performance that screams at you !!"
