Asus King of Kings - ATI EAX1950XTX plus EAX1950XTX Crossfire

Introduction

This week we were bombarded with new products to review, and the best products from Asus is no exception.

Asus is one of the leading motherboard and video card manufacturers and they will always bring you the best of the best before most other other brands. But in recent years Asus have become much more mainstream in consumer electronics producing products such as Notebooks, PDA, multimedia cards, LCD monitors, mobile phones and many many more others.

Going into consumer electronics has diversified Asus making them an international big name brand, but will this action make them loose focus on what they were originally great at in the first place?

MSI

A few months ago we reviewed an ATI X1900GT GPU and it performed really well along side Nvidia's 7900GT. I have also mentioned time and time again that the ATI GPUs seem to produce a realism and atmosphere in the graphics that add much much more to the gaming experience. Needless to say that the X1950 will no doubt produce the same effect.

Asus has also sent us their Crossfire edition of the very same video card the EAX1950 Crossfire which is based on the same ATI X1950 GPU. Obviously the Asus are very confident in the future of ATI Crossfire technology in the hands AMD.

In this review we look at one of Asus' powerful gaming cards the EAX1950XTX along with EAX1950 Crossfire for the champion gamer.

Lets see what ATI has to say about the X1950XTX ...

Fully Crossfire compatible, faster clock speeds say about 1GHz, simultaneous anti-aliasing and HDR processing plus the ability to display on large screen or multiple sceens even with HD format. So you can imagine playing all your power hungry games on your massive widescreen LCD TV in the lounge.

"A game powered by the Radeon X1950 is a beautiful thing to behold. Its sophisticated architecture employs Shader Model 3.0, enables simultaneous high dynamic range lighting effects and full screen anti-aliasing, and supports up to 512 MB GDDR4 memory for incredibly fast frame buffering."
