Installation, Setup and BIOS

The IN9 32X-Max has plenty of room around the processor socket, making it easy to install a large CPU cooler. The same can be said for the space around the DDR2 DIMM slots ... for easy access to your memory. The Abit OTES Max heatpipe cooling for the chipset is a great bonus and does a great job cooling both the northbridge and southbridge.

Installation was fairly straight forward. What I really liked about this motherboard is that it has a unique clear CMOS switch which is located on the back, near the PS/2 connectors. This unique feature is great for overclockers and allows instant CMOS reset, without opening the case and awkwardly finding that clear CMOS jumper.

The rear ATX panel includes the usual connections for PS/2 mouse and keyboard. You'll also find optical in/out, 2 eSATA connectors, 4 USB ports and dual gigabit ethernet connectors.

The BIOS for the the IN9 32X-Max uses Abit's uGuru feature and it's really easy to use. You can set your BIOS settings to auto or you can adjust manually for extra performance.

Here, you can adjust various options including CPU multipliers, FSB, and of course voltages for memory, chipset and processor itself. Memory timings can also be adjusted as well as onboard LED sequences.
