MSI NX8600GT - T2D256EZ

"Good performance at bargain price. The NX8600GT uses the latest NVIDIA G84 GPU and offers silent heat-pipe cooling with NO fans. What's more, there's even room for improvement in terms of performance through a little overclocking."

MSI NX8600GT - A silent graphics solution with performance to match

Introduction

With the strong hold that Nvidia has accomplished with their top end 8800 GPU chipset, ATI has fallen behind, leaving an opportunity for Nvidia to produce mid ranged 8 series GPU that are DX10 compatible. So this means affordable performance for the cost conscious gamer.

MSI has taken this mid ranged 8 series chipset and developed the NX8600GT. This graphics card has a special silent fanless cooling system, and is HDTV ready, and has the DOT (Dynamic Overclocking Tech.) facility.

Even the preliminary reading of the specs has got me thinking that this graphics card is capable of being used in a HTPC system or even in a gamers/enthusiasts machine.

MSI NX8600GT         G84

Based on G84, the whole GeForce 8600 family is all fabricated by TSMC with 80nm technology. GeForce 8600GT, code name G84-300, would have a core speed of 420MHz or below, and features 1.4GHz DDR graphic memory . GeForce 8600GT is expected to give more power than GeForce 7600GT. It may not be as powerful as the 8600GTS due to its restricted memory clock and core speed, but it will still out perform AMD RV630, according to manufacturers.

Lets not dilly dally about and see what the MSI NX8600GT has to offer ...
