Installation and Package

Package and Contents

This package comes with some really good applications and a game plus a few extra cables such as an s-video to Y-Pb-Pr cable for high quality video playback on TVs and also two DVI to VGA adaptor, and finally an s-video to s-video cable, an of course the additional extra power cable to give the VGA card that extra boost.

Installation

Asus has stuck with NVIDIA reference designed heatsink and fan design with heatpipe to carry heat from the GPU core up into the array of fins in the top section. A clever design that runs with a very silent fan.

Even though the VGA card was a full size PCIe, it fitted easily on 3 different mainboards, but you may have to sacrifice a standard PCI slot that usually appear below the first PCIe slot (if the mainboard has it). The same situation applies when you have the EN8800GTS in SLI mode but you will lose 2 PCI slots (again depending on the mainboard physical layout).

Driver installation was very simple since it uses NVIDIA unified drivers... no further comment here.
