Gigabyte's Thermal Division introduces a chassis that will appeal to the masses
INTRODUCTION
Gigabyte is a brand name that has been around for quite some time. I remember one of my first motherboards was a Gigabyte, and back then I was using a AMD 686 processor ... the good old xx486 days. I remember it quite clearly, beacuse it was one of my first ever attempt on overclocking. And it was using a Gigabyte board that I managed to overclock the AMD 686 processor, from the original speed of 120Mhz to a whopping 133Mhz !! ... wow, now that's really showing my age :P
Nowadays, Gigabyte has become a big brand name for producing everything from PC components to complete systems. Their main competitors are Asus, MSI and Foxconn. We'll explain about the Gigabyte-Asus saga in another story. Gigabyte have now expanded their product range to include graphic cards, motherboards, cooling products and computer chassis.
Over the years, We've only reviewed one or two products from Gigabyte (not many) ... probably because we never had the chance. But after speaking to Gigabyte in person at the Cebit 2007 exhibition, we've established a mutual relationship in which both Gigabyte and CPU3D would benefit. Expect to see a lot more reviews this year on Gigabyte products, right here at CPU3D.
In this exclusive review, we'll be taking a look at the Triton 180 Chassis from Gigabyte. This will be UK's first review on this chassis ... only at CPU3D. This chassis is aimed at the mainstream market. It's made from light weight aluminium and comes in Black or original Silver.
ATX cases and chassis are more than often, overlooked by many PC builders. To them, it's not an essential part of a PC, but what's really important are the guts of the PC ... motherboard, processor, ram and graphic cards. For the enthusiast though, every component is just as important as one another.

The Gigabyte Triton 180 Chassis is really aimed at the mainstream market, but features a lot of the things you'll find on some high-end chassis. I think this chassis will do well among modest gamers and performance users.
OK, let's not waste any more time and take a closer look ...
