Gigabyte GV-NX85T 256Mb (Geforce 8500GT)

"It's a no frills card that gives the budget gamers the basics to run a modern game. It supports both DX10 and Windows Vista and it comes with a great Dawn of War game...."

Installation and Package

Package and Contents

This package comes with the usual drivers and manual on CD and a fantastic Dawn of War game. There's a DVI-to-VGA converter, s-video out to HDTV cable.

Installation

Installation was easy with no problems at all. The card itself is a single slot profile which means that it doesn't take up to 2 PCI slot space. No bulky HSF, just a nice and slim fanless heatsink which cools both the GPU and the RAM. There was no need for the 6 pin PCI-E power molex too as this is the low spec of the Nvidia 8 series which uses less power.

Driver installation was very simple too since it uses NVIDIA unified drivers... no further comment here. In our benchmark tests, we used ForceWare drivers v158.22.
