"The Gigabyte G-Pad is an effective fanless cooling solution for all notebooks with screen size of 12 to 15 inches. It looks great and does the job pretty well. "
The Gigabyte's G-Pad fanless notebook cooler is a great accessory for any mobile users
INTRODUCTION
The sales of notebooks and laptops over the past year have been phenomenal, and have increased dramatically. So much so, that manufacturers are now producing a lot of after market products for it. These include a wide range products from USB devices to cooling products. It was only a few months ago that we reviewed a notebook cooling solution from Thermaltake ... the iXoft. It was a very good product that uses special bead-like materials that actually turns into a liquid state when heat is applied ... giving you an effective cooling solution via the process of convection.
Thanks to our CPU3D Review team and to Gigabyte Thermal Division, we'll be taking a look at their G-Pad notebook cooler. Gigabyte has several models of the G-Pad for different size notebooks, and comes in either blck or silver. The one which we reviewed is the GH-GBW11-NP silver version, which is suitable for all notebooks with screen size of 12 to 13 inches.
This product is very good thermal solution designed for notebooks and laptops with a screen size of 12 to 13 inches. It's constructed of Aluminum, it's fanless and has special grooves on the underside for an effective cooling system.
The design of the G-Pad is very simple. It's made from two small aluminum plates that's held together by discreet hinges. It can folded in half, and once folded it's held together by 2 magnetic studs ... one on each plate. What I like about the G-Pad is the fact that it's light weight and comes with a very attractive storage pouch.
In this review will be testing the G-Pad using our Toshiba Satellite Pro U200 notebook. Let's take a closer look at and see how well it cools our notebook.
