Test Setup and Procedures

Test Setup

In our tests we used a Toshiba Satellite Pro U200 notebook. See the specs below. Although it's not a very powerful notebook, it should still help us determine whether the Mini-Ninja notebook cooler does an adequate job of cooling the notebook.

Notebook specifications:

 - Intel® Core 2 Duo Centrino T5500 @ 1.66Ghz
 - Intel® 945GM Chipset
 - 667Mhz FSB
 - 60 GB Hard Disk Drive
 - 512MB DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)
 - 12.1" Toshiba TruBrite® WXGA TFT display
 - Slim DVD Super Multi (Double Layer) drive
 - 3 x USB 2.0 ports; 1x IEEE 1394 port
 - Multiple Card Reader: SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO
 - COMBO/DVD/DVD-RW/DVD-Dual Layer

Procedures

In our tests we used a Toshiba Satellite Pro U200 notebook. See above for specifications. We also used 3 pieces of software to test the Mini-Ninja notebook cooler. Here's a list below ...

 - SiSoft: Sandra XII (CPU burn test)
 - 3D Mark 2006
 - PC Mark 2005

Windows XP with service pack 2 and DirectX 9.0c was used as our operating system. In each test, we ran the software for a total of 2 hours each.

We used a temperature probe which we attached to the under side of the notebook. We firstly measured the temperatures with no cooling ... just the notebook running idle and then with all the tests. Then later, the same procedure but with the notebook sitting ontop of the Mini-Ninja notebook cooler.
