Installation Setup and BIOS

Installation, Setup and BIOS

Installation was just like any other motherboard. I didn't counter any problems whatsoever. Just make sure you take all the precautions beforehand. The review kit came with the original AMD stock heatsink and fan (with heatpipe technology), and was already mounted onto the socket AM2. Removing the HSF, and re-mounting it back on was fairly easy. Included in the package also, was the optional fan kit, which is designed to cool the heatpipe. Take a closer look below.

The DDR2 DIMMs are located at the very top of the motherboard which can be difficult to access, but other than that, everything seem to be ok. All the connectors including SATA, IDE and ATX power have easy access.

The BIOS has plenty of options to tweak, tune and adjust a variety of BIOS settings. These include adjustments for CPU and DDR2 voltages, multiplier and FSB adjustments also well as memory timing configurations. The review kit instructed us to use the following memory timings ... 4-4-4-12.
