"The V8 CPU Cooler from Coolermaster offers a massive 180W of cooling power for the most demanding of CPUs. We put it through the test with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 at 3.0Ghz."
CPUs from both AMD and Intel can get quite hot, and using their standard stock cooler doesn’t seem to lower the temperatures as much as one would want. Add to that, if you intent to overclock your CPU, your temperatures will probably get sky high, which isn’t good and could shorten the CPU’s lifespan. For this reason there are many aftermarket coolers.

Today, we will be looking at the Coolermaster V8 CPU Cooler. This is the latest CPU cooler from Cooler Master, a well respected brand in this category.
The cooler is built around a quad-tower design with a 120mm clear black fan located in the middle of the actual heatsink unit. This helps to pull and push air through the Aluminum fins. On the top, there’s a cover with the Cooler Master and V8 symbols.

The features are quite impressive:
We'll be testing this CPU cooler on our test rig which is comprised of an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 processor at 3.0Ghz on an Asus P5Q-E motherboard. We also used 2Gb of Adata DDR2-1066 ram, a Gigabyte Radeon HD 4850 and a Coolermaster Real Power M850 PSU. It'll be interesting to see how this CPU cooler can compete against the Coolermaster Hyper212 CPU cooler.
So now let's read on and find out more ...
