"We take a look at Tsunami's incredibly cheap and cheerful power supply. It features two +12V rails at 17A, and a total output of 585 Watts. Sounds all good, but is it enough to satisfy the mainstream user?"
Yes, it's another Tsunami review, and this time it's not a computer chassis or a USB enclosure ... it's a power supply. But hey, I have to give some credit to Tsunami for trying. It's better than some of the manufacturers I've come across. Anyway, last week we took a look at the MRJ2 slim HTPC chassis, which was below average, and earlier this week we reviewed their e-DATA 3500 NAS BT enclosure ... which was surprisingly better than I expected. Still, one has to remember that Tsunami is a budget manufacturer that specialise in these type of products. Next time you go to a computer fair or visit your local budget computer store ... see if you can spot a Tsunami product. The chances are ... you'll find one ;)

Today the CPU3D Team will be looking at the Power'On T 585W PSU (Power Supply Unit) made by the Tsunami Group. Tsunami group offer alot of lower end PSU's but this one is an Nvidia SLI signed PSU so it should be good. Here is the history of Tsunami Group taken from there website.
"Tsunami was founded in 1994 with one simple vision: Make technology delightful, enjoyable, and life- inspired. We have established manufacturing plants in emerging markets e.g. China and Brazil. Along the years, Tsunami has successfully developed itself as a main player in supplying innovative and high quality products globally. In 2007, based on it’s extensive experience, Tsunami Group has decided to extend their arms into the UK market. Tsunami is seeking to be unique and will provide OEM/ODM, IPO sourcing consultancy service for customers with visions. Tsunami is also proudly to be Intel © exclusive R&D design partner. "

Now, don't expect the Tsunami Power On 585W PSU to perform anywhere as good as the top brands you're all very familiar with. Remember, it's aimed at the lower end of the market for budget users. So, it's likely to lack some of the features found on the bigger brands. What we're interested to see found out ... is whether the Tsunami Power On 585W PSU can handle the basic power requirements of most users.
We'll be testing the Tsunami Power On 585W PSU using our test rig includes an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066 (PC2-8500) 2Gb Kit, ATI Radeon HD 4850 (512Mb DDR3) and a 24" Dell 2407 LCD monitor. Windows Vista with native DX10 was used as our OS.
OK, let's not waste any more time an take a look a closer look at the Tsunami Power On 585W PSU ...
