There are still a huge market for DDR2 memory, and manufacturers are forever producing higher speed DDR2 to satisfy the demands of both the mainstream user and enthusiasts. However, for many enthusiasts, the limiting factor with DDR2 ram is the speed. Right now the highest speed available for DDR2 is 1200Mhz, and that's an unofficial specification of JEDEC, the governing body for memory standards.

In this review, we'll be taking a look at the Kingston HyperX DDR2 PC2-9200 2Gb Kit. Kingston are among of the first manufacturer to produce and release DDR2 memory with a rating of PC2-9200. These modules are specified to run at 1150Mhz, with timings of 5-5-5-15, and should easily overclock to 1200Mhz. They also feature Kington's distinctive blue heat spreader with that famous HyperX logo.
We expect these modules to perform extremely well, especially in the overclocking department. We'll be testing these modules on our test rig, which includes an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ default 2.4Ghz, Asus Maximus II Formula (P45) motherboard, a Radeon HD3870 graphics card, PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 860W PSU and a 24" Samsung SyncMAster 245B LCD monitor.
